Definition : Natural fiber dressings derived from cotton or natural woven fibers (i.e., gauze). These dressings may be made of woven or unwoven cotton or other natural fibers (e.g., linen); they are typically available in a variety of shapes (e.g., pads, sponges, sheets). Cotton/gauze dressings are intended to absorb wound exudates; they are used mainly in wound management.
