Exploratory Probes, Uterine

Definition : Exploratory probes designed for introduction through the vagina and into the uterus and that are intended mainly for exploratory purposes. These devices typically consist of a slender metallic or plastic cylinder that may be passed through the cervix. They may be attached to a handle at the proximal end; they can be flexible or rigid. Uterine exploratory probes are intended mainly for examination of the cervix and uterus; they may be also used to determine uterine dimensions.
