IVD Test Reagent/Kits, Immunoassay, Tumor Marker, Fecal Occult Blood

Definition : Immunoassay reagents intended to perform qualitative and/or quantitative analyses on a feces sample to determine the presence of hidden (occult) blood. Occult blood in feces is a marker of a bleeding ulcer or malignant diseases in the gastrointestinal tract; tests for occult test in feces are mostly used for screening patients for colorectal carcinomas. Immunological tests reduce the false positive rate with respect to chemical test for occult blood in feces.
