Definition : Laboratory light microscopes that illuminate the object axially with white light so that the object appears against a bright background. The great majority of microscopic specimens are stained, thin preparation sections, whose structure and surface details can be recognized using Brightfield microscopes. Depending on complexity, these microscopes have applications in the clinical (e.g., urinalysis, hematology), general, and/or research laboratories.
