Definition : Bone surgery retractors designed to temporarily separate and hold back one segment (usually one head) of the tibia, exposing and providing access to other tissues, organs, or structures during orthopedic surgery procedures. These retractors are typically manual, sturdy handheld instruments consisting of a curved, concave shaft with a blunt blade at the distal tip and an integral rounded handle at the proximal end.
